The City of Subiaco is transforming with significant change and evolution in terms of residential options, the commercial sector, retail, entertainment, leisure and recreation. We navigate this change in partnership with the community, business and stakeholders, whilst also celebrating Subiaco’s’ heritage, history and culture.Join our dynamic Operations and Environment team in this exciting and challenging role and be responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of operational programs for the city’s parks/reserves, streetscapes, and urban forest. Your responsibilities will include:Coordinating the development and implementation of maintenance programs for the city’s park/reserves, streetscapes and urban forestProviding effective leadership, direction and guidance to the section including performance management and appraisalsAssist in identifying and resolving horticultural, arboricultural and irrigation maintenance and development issues as part of the management teamPrepare reports, correspondence and other documentation relevant to Park OperationsTo be successful in this role you will have:Proven supervisory experience including human resource and contract managementExperience in coordinating parks maintenance programs and servicesTertiary level qualification in horticulture or environmental management and/or relevant work experienceExperience operating, maintaining, programming and fault diagnosis of commercial irrigation infrastructureExperience in budget management and the procurement / tendering processesHigh level of organisational ability in planning, prioritising and achieving outcomes within quality, time and budget parametersHighly developed and proven interpersonal, communication and influencing skillsExcellent written communication skills and experience using corporate computer systemsMust be willing to participate in the City’s after hour call-out processBenefits of working for the City of Subiaco:Five weeks annual leaveOne rostered day off per monthGenerous superannuation matching contributionsSubsidised gym membershipHealth and wellness initiativesSalary range: $90,000 - $101,800 per annum (depending on experience) plus superannuation, 5 weeks annual leave, free gym membership, free parking, a rostered day off per month and a range of health and wellbeing benefits,restricted private use of a council vehicle.
