It is enriched by our leading urban tree canopy, our inviting parks and open spaces.We are seeking to appoint a Manager of Operations and Environmental Services who will be responsible for planning and delivery of a comprehensive range of  projects and initiatives surrounding parks and environment, waste and sustainability, climate change mitigation and adaptation, greening, biodiversity and water conservation.You will report to the Director Technical Services and be critical in setting the strategic development and management of the branch. You will lead the branch responsibilities which include:Parks planning and managementParks improvement and maintenanceEnvironmental management and improvement programsWaste managementBranch asset maintenanceThe requirements for this role include:Proven ability to effectively lead, manage and motivate a multi-disciplinary work team to achieve objectives.Completion of, or progress towards, a relevant qualification in Horticulture, Environmental Science, or a related discipline or relevant experience.Highly developed analytical, strategic thinking and problem solving skills.Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, negotiation, facilitation and communication skills.Proven ability to manage contractors and consultants to achieve outcomes.Significant experience in business and project management processes, budget control, contracts and tender management processes preferably within a community based service.Extensive relevant experience working at a senior level managing a Parks, Environment or similar service with an emphasis on the principles of conservation, sustainability and leisure, as applied to a community setting.Highly developed organisational and project management skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects and coordinate conflicting priorities to meet deadlinesHighly developed knowledge of workplace health and safetyProven ability to research, interpret and apply legislation, regulations and industry codes of practice and written communication skills to produce reports and submissions.Current C Class driver’s license.This will be offered as a Full Time Permanent position Salary range: $130,000 to $145,000 plus SG employer superannuation and up to an additional 4.5% employer co-contribution to superannuation, 5 weeks annual leave, free gym membership, a rostered day off per month and a range of health and wellbeing benefits.             At the City of Subiaco we are collaborative, inclusive and safety focussed.  Our people live our values of Teamwork, Respect, Integrity and Customer Service.
